ICC WC League 2: Nepal wins America by 8 wickets



KATHMANDU: Nepal has defeated America by eight wickets at the tri-series of ICC WC Cricket League 2 held at TU Cricket Ground in Kirtipur on Wednesday.

Chasing the paltry 36-run target set by America, Nepal reached the target in 5.2 overs losing only two wickets. Paras Khadka scored 20 runs including three fours and one six off 12 balls and remained not out. Similarly, DS Airee collected 15 runs including two fours and one six off 11 balls.

In reply, NP Kenjige took two wickets of Nepal giving away 15 runs in 2.2 overs.

Earlier,invited to bat first after losing the toss, America had notched up 35 runs losing all wickets in 12 overs.

America’s XM Marshall scored 16 runs including two fours off 22 balls while the other batsmen could not reach double-digit runs.

In reply, Nepal’s Sandeep Lamichhane grabbed the highest six wickets of America giving away only 16 runs in six overs and Sushan Bhari claimed four wickets conceding only five runs in three overs, piling pressure on the opponent.

This was the last game Nepal played with America under the tri-series. Earlier, Nepal had registered a win by defeating America by 35 runs in the tri-series on Saturday.

Oman tops the points table as it has won all the matches in the tournament.
