Tumbahangphe summoned to Baluwatar after refusing to quit



KATHMANDU: Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dr. Shiva Maya Tumbahangphe has reached the prime minister’s official residence in Baluwatar on Sunday.

The Deputy Speaker reached Baluwatar after she was summoned by the top-notch leaders of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) for a discussion.

NCP Secretariat meeting on Sunday had requested Tumbahangphe to step down. However, she has insisted that she is not quitting anytime soon.

Earlier this morning, Prime Minister and NCP Chairman KP Oli and another Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal held a meeting on the selection of a new Speaker. According to a source, Tumbahangphe was summoned to Baluwatar after the meeting.

Top-leaders of the ruling party including General Secretary Bishnu Poudel and Secretariat member Ishwor Pokharel among others are present in Baluwatar.
