POKHARA: Gandaki Province Chief Minister and leader of ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Prithivi Subba Gurung has said emerging internal disputes within the party would not affect the country’s development.
The government of all three levels, federal, provincial, and local, were committed to the development of the country for achieving the basis for prosperity, said the CM while inaugurating Shrawan Kumar Home Senior Citizen Service Centre at Batulechaur in Pokhara Metropolitan City-16 here on Saturday.
The Provincial Government was stressing the need for the construction of physical infrastructures for senior citizens and persons with disabilities. He also expected cooperation from all sides to implement the campaign of the government to make the Province free of beggars. The governments of all three tiers have been committed to providing free treatment to Covid-19 patients, he said.
Pokhara metropolis mayor Man Bahadur GC said the process of construction was made possible after assiduous efforts. The revolving fund of Rs 1.4 million has been set up for the sustainable operation of the center, shared by its chair Dan Bahadur Baniya.
The three-storied building would be constructed at the cost of Rs 30 million on public land at Badahar Bot. The first floor of the building would be used for health check-ups of the senior citizens, study center and kitchen while second floor would be utilized for spiritual recital and yoga exercise. The third floor would be used for the establishment of the office.
The building would come into operation after the completion of its construction within two years. Gandaki province government and Pokhara metropolis have assured to fund Rs 10 million each for the building, shared center’s secretary Dinesh Shrestha.
The federal and provincial parliamentary members have also pledged to provide assistance to the purpose, Shrestha added.
