Kohalpur-Surkhet transmission line works begin



KATHMANDU: Works relating to the Kohalpur –Surkhet 132 KVA transmission line have begun.

A detailed survey has begun with a target of completing it within a month. Project chief Rabi Kumar Chaudhary said the survey will focus on the geographical condition of (proposed) project site, determining the route of the line and the number of tress to be cut down in course of implementing the project.

Primary survey has already been completed.

Indian company R.S. Infraprojects Pvt Ltd owns the contract to construct the project. As per the contract, works in regard with the transmission line’s design, its construction, test, distribution and plant procurement need to be completed by the next two years.

It is estimated to cost around Rs 700 million to complete the project which aims to address the ‘low voltage’ issue that has hampered the extension of electricity in Karnali. RSS
