NC to lower flag half-mast to mourn ex-CWC member Shrestha’s passing



KATHMANDU:  Nepali Congress (NC) has decided to lower a flag half-mast at the central and district party headquarters to mourn the death of former CWC member Shyam Lal Shrestha for three days.

An emergency meeting of Central Working Committee (CWC) meeting held at the central party headquarters on Saturday morning took a decision to this effect, according to Krishna Prasad Paudel, NC’s chief secretary.

Similarly, NC will shut down its offices at the central and district party headquarters on Sunday and keep a condolence book at all the party offices until 13 days, according to the decision.

The party has also decided to hold a condolence meeting on the 13th day of Shrestha’s passing in the Kathmandu Valley by maintaining social distance.

Former Kathmandu District President and freedom fighter Shrestha died at the age of 80 on Friday.
