APF to build BOP in Jhulaghat

BAITADI: The Armed Police Force (APF) is to construct its building of Border Outpost (BOP) in Jhulaghat of Baitadi.

APF Baitadi (Battalion Number 51) in-charge DSP Ganesh Shah shared that a contract worth amounting to Rs 10 million has been signed with Royal Khemadevi JV in this connection.

The contract signing was made in a way to complete the building construction works by mid-July 2021.

“Preparation is underway to initiate the building construction within some days as contract signing to this effect has been done”, he further informed.

Two buildings are to be constructed for barrack and office purposes, DSP Shah said, adding it would end a situation for the APF to land in rented house.

The BOP was set up at Jhulaghat on 23 May 2020. The border outposts have been put in place at Pancheswor and Kusmautghat of Shivanath for border surveillance.

The posts have been established for providing 24-hour security, preventing all types of border crimes and checking revenue leakage. Nepal-India border shares 61 kilometers in Baitadi alone.
