Litterateur Neupane honored with ‘Mahakavi Devkota Award’



KATHMANDU:Litterateur Chandra Prasad Neupane has been honored with the ‘Mahakavi Devkota Award’.

Nepali Bangmaya Pratisthan awarded Neupane for his contribution to Nepali epic poetry writing and publication.

Born on November 14, 1967 at Kalleri of Phulpingkot in Sindhupalchok district, Neupane specialized in epic writing and published over a dozen works including a dozen epics.

He wrote Chandrayug, a noted epic, stories, essays, poems and novels. He rose to fame after publishing a long narrative poem, ‘Paluwa’.

He is involved in the teaching profession for long. The award carrying a purse of Rs 10,000 would be handed to Neupane amid a function, said the Pratisthan’s President Shailandu Prakash Nepal.
