COVID-19: Province 1 witnesses 77 fresh cases, 3 deaths in last 24 hours



MORANG: Province 1 witnessed 77 new cases of coronavirus on Saturday whereas three persons died of the pandemic in the past 24 hours.

According to the Ministry of Social Development of Province 1, the province witnessed 62 new cases of coronavirus in Morang, 14 in Sunsari and one in Udayapur, making the province tally 4,696 till Saturday.

The Ministry stated that Biratnagar Metropolis witnessed the largest number of 46 coronavirus cases in Morang in the 24 hours.

Likewise, Budhiganga Rural Municipality saw10 and Katahari witnessed four coronavirus cases. Other two rural municipalities of Morang which got the coronavirus cases are Gramthan and Sundar Hareicha. Both saw one case each.

Similarly, in Sunsari, Itahari and Dharan Sub-Metropolitan cities saw eight and two cases respectively.

Likewise, Inaruwa saw tow and Duhabi saw one more case of coronavirus in the last 24 hours.

Udayapur district got its only case in Belaka Municipality.

With Saturday’s cases, the total number of coronavirus cases in Province 1 has reached 4696.

The province discharged 36 coronavirus patients on Saturday taking the discharged case tally to 2,056 till date.

According to the Ministry, three people of the province lost their lives from the pandemic in the 24 hours. The coronavirus death toll in this province is now 47.
