Film editor Anil Gautam dies in road mishap



KATHMANDU: Nepali film editor Anil Gautam has died in a road accident.

Gautam died after his motorcycle, Pradesh 3-01-003 Ka 4563, was hit by a tipper at Tinkune on Friday night, said police.

The accident took place at Tinkune near Munni Bhairab while he was heading to his residence in Kaushaltar from Baneshwor at 10:55 pm yesterday.

Critically injured Gautam who was rushed to Baneshwor-based Civil Hospital, breathed his last in the course of treatment, said Traffic Police Division.

Police said they are investigating the case after taking the tipper driver into custody.

Gautam has worked in various Nepali cine films including Akaal, Kusume Rumal 2, Daiba Sanjog among others as an editor under the Nepal Film Development Company.

He had been associated with Prime Times Television as a visual editor until recently.
