Six health workers at TUTH test positive for COVID-19; emergency service closed



KATHMANDU: Six health staffers working at the emergency ward at the Maharajgunj-based Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH) have tested positive for coronavirus.

Dr Santa Kumar Das, COVID-19 coordinator at TUTH hospital confirmed that two doctors and four nurses have tested positive for the pandemic virus.

The hospital has decided to close the emergency service of the hospital from Thursday amid fears that the infection might have transmitted to others. The Out Patient Department (OPD) service, however, will remain open.
