Pakistan’s three medalists from SAG 2019 fail in dope test

KATHMANDU: Two Pakistani athletes who had won gold medals in the 13th South Asian Games held in Kathmandu have failed a doping test.

Mohammad Nahim, who won gold in 100 meters hurdles and Mehaboob Ali who won gold in 400 meters hurdles have tested positive in the doping test. The 13th SAG was held in Kathmandu in December 2019.

Both tested positive in the doping test carried out for the games, and they have also accepted the result, said Nepal Olympic Committee. Accordingly, the two athletes have been suspended until December 2023.

Their gold medals have also been withdrawn. All the athletes who took part in the games were tested as per the regulation of the World Anti-doping agency. Both of them were found to have consumed banned substance.
