One found COVID-19 positive posthumously in Mahottari



JANAKPURDHAM: A 45-year-old male, who died while undergoing treatment for diabetes and lung related hazards at the Janakpurdham-based Janaki Health Care, is found to be infected with COVID-19 in the posthumous swab test report.

According to Krishna Prasad Katuwal, the Chief District Officer (CDO) of Mahottari, the test report of the deceased from Mathiyani-6, has come positive.

CDO Katuwal said the man’s swab was collected posthumously and the body was cremated prior to receiving the report.

Swabs of as many as 56 people who came into contact with the deceased during the hospital stay and funeral rituals have been collected and sent for PCR test.

The District Administration Office Mahottari has sealed the market area of Mathiyani and Ward No 6 as precautionary measure to stop transmission in the community.
