Dr Acharya and Muma Ram Khanal quit Sajha Party

KATHMANDU: Sajha Party influential central leaders — Dr Surya Raj Acharya and Muma Ram Khanal – have left the party citing differences with the party leadership, particularly about the planned move to undergo merger with the Bibeksheel Party.

Party sources said Sajha Party and Bibeksheel Party have initiated dialogue for merger once again.

It should be noted that the two parties had merged in 2017 and split in early 2018 following differences between the two parties.

Meanwhile, if Mahesh Bhandari, the party’s provincial coordinator of Gandaki State is to be believed, Sajha Party is holding talks with the other party for merger.

The Sajha Party had earlier this year said it was open for unification or merger with like-minded political parties.
