One killed in a clash with APF in Sarlahi



KATHMANDU: A clash ensued between Armed Police Force (APF) and some Indians who tried to snatch a gun from the APF personnel in Sarlahi on Friday leaving one dead and six others injured.

According to Mohan Bahadur GC, the Chief District Officer(CDO) of Sarlahi district, 6 persons including 3 APF personnel are injured in the incident.

CDO GC informed that the incident began APF personnel stopped some Indian nationals trying to enter Nepal’s border unlawfully.

“When the Indians entering unlawfully tried to loot weapons of the security persons deployed at the border, the APF had to open fire at the intruders,” GC explained how the incident occurred.

According to APF, only after opening the fire they were able to get their looted weapons back.

Sources also informed that out of 3 Indians injured in the incident, one was in critical condition.

Likewise, 3 APF personnel were also injured in the incident.

SP Ganga Ram Shrestha confirmed the news about the firing in the border and informed that he was collecting details about the incident.

Prior to this as well, the Indians who had attacked the security forces in various locations of Bara and Jhapa districts, the police had to open fire to control the situation.
