11 persons arrested on charge of robbery during lockdown



KATHMANDU: A total of 11 persons, including two women, have been arrested on the charge of robbery during the lockdown period in Kathmandu.

According to Nabin Karki, DSP at the Metropolitan Police Circle, Boudha, they have been arrested from the Boudha area.

Those arrested are Ayush Thapa Magar living in Boudha,  Suraj Magar living in Kavre, Reshma Lama living in  Sukedhara, Meena Lama living in Kathmandu, Asal Bhujel living in Gokarneshwor, Abishek Bhujel living in Gokarneshwor, Ngima Sherpa and Dhan Bahadur Tamang from Okhaldunga, Ayush Rai and Suman Limbu from Budhanilkantha.

They are found to have been looting valuables and other items from the hotels, restaurants, grocery stores, and houses. They were arrested after people complained about the robbery, Karki said.

Some of them have been handed over to the family members while some are sent to rehabilitation centers, Karki added.
