Families of US-Bangla air crash victims can file cases in Nepal



KATHMANDU: Families of victims killed in the US-Bangla air crash that occurred in Nepal two years ago can legally file their cases at the Nepali courts for compensation.

Earlier, seven Nepali families of the victims had filed separate cases at Kathmandu District Court, seeking compensation.

On March 6, High Court Patan okayed the decision issued by Kathmandu District Court declaring that the area of cases field by the families of the US-Bangla air crash victims lies in Nepal.

Earlier, on December 5, 2019, Kathmandu District Court had ruled declaring Nepal as the territory of the cases related to US-Bangla air crash victims.

An airbus belonging to US-Bangla airlines had crashed while landing at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) two years ago, killing more than 51 people including seven Nepali nationals.
