Oman clean sweeps ICC WC League 2 trilateral series

KATHMANDU: Oman has clean swept the trilateral series held under the ICC World Cup League 2 on Tuesday. Oman won all the four matches of the series it played in Kathmandu.

Oman defeated the USA by 92 runs to clean sweep the series today.

Chasing down the 277-run target set by Oman, the USA managed to get only 188 runs on the board losing all wickets in 39.1 overs.

Nisrag Patel top-scored for the USA at 52 runs as Aaron Jones made not out 47 runs.

Aqib Ilyas of Oman grabbed three wickets as Zeeshan Maqsood sent two American batsmen back to the pavilion.

Earlier invited to bat first after losing the toss, Oman notched-up 276 runs on the board losing six wickets in the stipulated 50 overs.

Rusty Theron and Saurabh Netravalkar of the USA grabbed three wickets each.

With the win, Oman has been placed top of the points table with 16 points. The USA has been placed second with 12 points.
