20 killed as bus collides head-on with truck in India



KATHMANDU: At least 20 people were killed after a passenger bus collided head-on with a truck in Kannauj district of Uttar Pradesh in India on Friday night. The passenger bus was on fire after the collision.

The accident took place on the GT Road stretch of the Delhi-Kanpur highway when the bus was going to Jaipur from Kannauj.

As many as 70 passengers were traveling on the bus and fatalities could go up as many of them are still not accounted for, The Times of India reported.

Passengers could not escape as they were asleep with all the doors and windows shut when the accident took place.
