BJP leader Chauthaiwale, ex-Speaker Nembang discuss strengthening Nepal-India ties



KATHMANDU: In-charge of Foreign Affairs Department of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Vijay Chauthaiwale on Friday paid a courtesy call on Deputy Parliamentary Party leader of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) and former Speaker Subas Nembang.

During the meeting, the talks focused on ‘strengthening Nepal-India relations and how to make the grassroots level relations more cordial’.

Meanwhile, Chauthaiwale also met Minister for Foreign Affairs Pradeep Gyawali.

During the meeting held at Singha Durbar on Friday morning, many issues of mutual interest between Nepal and India were discussed.

Chauthaiwale, who arrived in Nepal at the invitation of NCP General Secretary and Finance Minister Bishnu Poudel, had met Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Thursday.

During the courtesy call, talks were held to strengthen the people-to-people relations between the two countries.

The visit by the BJP leader comes within two weeks after a visit by Indian Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla.
