Tourism ministry recommends two days’ holiday a week

KATHMANDU: A study committee formed by the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation has recommended a days’ holiday in a week.

The committee has recommended two days’ holiday for the staffers working in government and public offices to uplift the tourism sector badly hit by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The tourism ministry has recommended so arguing that it would be more scientific even though the right to sanction holiday rests with the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The ministry is looking for ways to uplift Nepal’s tourism at a time when the number of foreigners has sharply dropped due to COVID-19.
