Biplav’s local leader arrested in Kavrepalanchowk



KAVREPALANCHOWK: Police arrested a leader of Nepal Communist Party-Maoist led by Netra Bikram Chand alias ‘Biplav’ from Kavrepalanchowk on charge of extortion.

According to the District Police Office, Kavrepalanchowk, Madhusudan Bajagain, 54, from Shankhupatichaur in Dhulikhel Municipality-12 was arrested for his alleged involved in extortion.

DSP Kumar Bikram Thapa said Bajagain was arrested from his residence.

He was arrested on a tip-off that he was involved in extorting money by threatening the businessperson in the district.

Bajagain has admitted to police about his association with the Chand-led party that has been declared a terrorist outfit by the incumbent government.
