2,569 new cases take Nepal’s COVID-19 tally to 2,02,329

KATHMANDU: As many as 2,569 people were diagnosed coronavirus positive in the last 24 hours.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, Nepal’s COVID-19 has reached 2,02,329 with fresh cases as of Wednesday afternoon.

A total of 10,081 Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) tests have been done in the last 24 hours.

Dr. Jageshwor Gautam, spokesperson of the ministry informed that of the 34,218 RT-PCR tests done in the last three days, 7,876 persons were found with the novel coronavirus infection and 4,317 recoveries and 66 deaths were recorded in the same time span.

Currently, there are 38,912 active cases of COVID-19 of which 10,519 patients are receiving treatment in institutional isolation and 28,393 are in home isolation. A total of 382 patients are currently admitted to the ICU and 95 are receiving treatment with ventilator facility.

A total of 1,666 individuals were discharged from the hospitals in the past 24 hours while the number of people winning the battle against the virus reached 162243 in the country.

The recovery rate is at 81.2 per cent.

Likewise, 1,109 people are in quarantine facilities across the country at present.

As many as 26 people succumbed to the virus in the past 24 hours taking the COVID-19 death tally in the country to 1,174, the Ministry confirmed.
