SC issues show-cause order on citizenship amendment act

KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court (SC) today issued a show-cause notice over the citizenship amendment act.

The Forum for Women, Law and Development had filed a writ petition at the Apex Court seeking appropriate order in the name of the government.

In the petition, the FWLD had argued why the Act was not amended as per the spirit of the Constitution even after five years of the promulgation of the national statute.

The FLWD had filed the writ petition asking to pass the amendment on Nepal Citizenship Amendment Act 2063 BS as per the constitutional provision.
