55 including nine police officials test positive for COVID-19 in Parsa

BIRGUNJ: As many as 55 people including nine police personnel have tested positive for coronavirus in Parsa district.

New cases of coronavirus were confirmed during tests at the laboratory of Narayani Hospital on Monday night.

“A total of 55 people including 17 women were diagnosed with coronavirus during tests at the laboratory of Narayani Hospital on Monday night,” said Dr Niraj Kumar Singh of Narayani Hospital.

Among those infected eight police officials are from ward police, Birta and one from District Police Office, Parsa.

As many as 27 people were found infected through contact tracing. According to Singh, only five of them have shown symptoms of coronavirus.

Among those infected, 10 are from Birgunj Metropolitan City-4, Birta, five from Birgunj-1, Chhapkaiya and three from Maisthan. Others are from Ramtol, Adharshanagar, Reshamkothi, Viswa, Linkroad and Murli.
