Death toll from coronavirus crosses 45,000-mark in India

KATHMANDU: The number of coronavirus cases has crossed 45,000-mark in India as of Tuesday morning.

With 53,016 new infection cases in the last 24 hours, the number of infection cases has reached 2,267,153, according to the latest figures collated by Worldometer.

This is the highest number of infection cases in Asia and third in the world.

Similarly, with 887 deaths in the past 24 hours, the number of deaths from the deadly virus has reached 45,353 as of Tuesday morning.

Currently 640,160 people are undergoing treatment at various hospitals across the country while 1,581,640 have returned home after recovery.

Broke out in Wuhan City of China last December, the COVID-19 has killed 737,863 and infected 20,236,931 people globally so far.
