Water level in Kamala River crosses danger line



SIRAHA: The District Administration Office, Siraha has urged the people in six of villages to stay in high alertness in view of the rising water level in the Kamala River.

The DAO made this warning after the water level in Kamala River was on continuous rise with the incessant rainfall for past two days.

With the increasing water level in the river, Karjanha, Kalyanpur and different villages of Siraha Municipality are in imminent threat of inundation and floods.

According to Assistant Chief District Officer Anuj Bhandari, the administration has alerted the locals and kept the security bodies ready for possible rescue operation. He also shared that the floods occurred in the river last year had caused huge damage in these villages. So, the locals are in high risk this year as well.

A local in Kalyanpur, Suraj Mandal, said they were worried with the rise of water level in river since past two days.
