Heavy downpour to continue on Saturday



KATHMANDU: Light to moderate rain will occur in all the seven provinces, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) on Saturday.

Generally to fully cloudy weather is expected throughout the country today with chances of rains compounded with thunderstorms and lightning.

Currently,the heavy rain is occurring in some places of Pradesh 5, Sudurpashchim Pradesh, Karnali Pradesh, Pradesh 1 and Pradesh 2, said Nirajan Sapkota, a meteorologist.

Heavy rain is likely to occur in few places of Pradesh 1, Pradesh 2, Bagmati Pradesh and Gandaki Pradesh

The highest rainfall is recorded in Beljhundi with 89.8 milliliters of rain followed by 81.8 milliliters in Udayapur and 79.4 in Bardaghat in the last 24 hours, said MFD.

As many as 23 people died 36 others went missing as of Friday evening due to floods and landslides across the country due to heavy rain.
