Nepal retains 170th position in FIFA ranking

KATHMANDU: Nepal has retained its 170th position in the FIFA rankings published on Thursday.

Nepal was ranked 170th in FIFA’s ranking last year as well. In the new ranking, India and Maldives are ahead of Nepal among the SAARC nations in 108th and 155th ranking respectively.

Nepal is in the third position among the SAARC countries while Bhutan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Pakistan are placed 189th, 187th, 206th and 200th in the ranking respectively.

In the newly released FIFA ranking, Belgium stands atop followed by France and Brazil with second and third places respectively.

The UK has claimed fourth-ranking while Uruguay is placed fifth.

Similarly, Croatia has clinched 6th ranking while Portugal has bagged 7th position. Spain is placed on the 8th while Argentina and Columbia are ranked 9th and 10th respectively.

There has not been much football activity across the world due to the COVID-19 pandemic lately due to which the ranking in FIFA has not changed significantly. RSS
