57 new COVID-19 cases in Rautahat, tally hits 531

RAUTAHAT: The number of people infected with coronavirus has crossed 500 in Rautahat district.

With 57 new confirmed cases, the number of coronavirus cases has reached 531 on Thursday. The newly infected are Nepali nationals who have arrived from India recently.

The infected are 49 from Paroha municipality, four from Rajpur municipality, three from Gadhimai municipality and one from Katahariya municipality, informed Chief District Officer Basudhev Ghimire.

According to Ghimire, all the confirmed cases were staying in quarantines of municipalities and their health condition is normal.

A total of 7,856 people are in the quarantines set up across the local units of the district, said the District Administration Office.

Of them, 7,503 are males and 357 are females.

Meanwhile, 2,950 have returned home from the quarantine.
