Nepalis stranded in Kuwait back home



KATHMANDU: Nepalis stranded in Kuwait due to the coronavirus-induced lockdown enforced in Nepal have arrived Kathmandu on Thursday.

A total of 161 Nepalis marooned in Kuwait despite granted amnesty landed at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) this afternoon.

Now, they will be kept in the holding centers fixed according to the provinces. Stranded Nepalis were brought with the initiative and support of the Kuwaiti government.

A total of 161 people have been brought to Nepal from today’s first flight. More Nepalis will be brought from Kuwait today.

Earlier, Nepalis in Myanmar and the United Arab Emirates were rescued.
