500 tests carried out in coronavirus-hit districts so far



KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Health and Population has said that it has extended the scope of COVID-19 testing.

The Ministry has started tests through rapid diagnostic kits.

Each province has been provided with 5,000 kits each for tests, Ministry’s Spokesperson Bikash Devkota said during a regular press briefing on Friday.

A total of 3,524 samples have been so far tested, he said, adding that 401 samples in Kathmandu and 229 samples in labs outside Kathmandu were tested in the past 24 hours.

According to Spokesperson Devkota, 339 tests have been carried out in Kailali, 137 in Kanchanpur and 19 in Baglung so far. These are the districts where most COVID-19 cases have been reported.

All the tests results are negative, he shared.
