Domestic helper ‘murdered’ ex-Secretary Karki’s wife

KATHMANDU: Preliminary investigation by police has revealed that domestic helper Bijay Chaudhary ‘murdered’ wife of former Secretary Arjun Karki, Muna Adhikari.

According to sources, it can be clearly seen in the CCTV footage that Chaudhary first strangled Muna with a rope and slammed on her head with a stool ruthlessly.

“It can be seen in the CCTV footage that they were engaged in a conversation before the attack. All of sudden, Chaudhary strangles Muna with a rope and brings her down to the floor. Then, Chaudhary attacks Muna with a stool to kill her,” a police official told Khabarhub.

Police have also recovered the stool from the incident site.

A police official investigating the case told Khabarhub that Chaudhary then committed suicide after the attack.

Muna, who was found unconscious and covered in a pool of blood at her home in Sanepa this morning, was declared dead as soon as she was taken to hospital.

She was declared dead after she was taken to the Sanepa-based Star Hospital.

Former secretary Karki told the police that he had gone to Pashupati and found both of them in a gruesome condition upon his return.

A joint team from Metropolitan Police Range, Lalitpur and Metropolitan Crime Division, Kathmandu is carrying out an investigation into the case.
