Five teenagers held on theft charge



KATHMANDU: Police have arrested five teenagers on the charge of theft from Sukedhara area of the capital.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of Metropolitan Police Circle, Maharajgunj, arrested Ashish Acharya, 16, of Jhapa, currently staying at Kapan, Ayush Thapa Magar of Gorkha, Lhakpa Chhiring Sherpa, 17, of Dolakha, Ajaya Magar, 18, of Ramechhap and Santosh Dhamala, 16, of Dhankuta.

Police also seized Rs 5,000 in cash, seven mobile phone sets, a half kg of marijuana and 80 tablets of Nitravet from their possession.

According to DSP Umesh Lamsal, they used to break into shops at night under the influence of narcotic drugs.

Lamsal said police are investigating the case after taking them into custody.
