Nat’l Football Head Coach Kalin resigns, Maharjan appointed acting Head Coach



KATHMANDU: The 11th Executive Committee meeting of the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) on Thursday decided to accept the resignation of men’s national team head coach Johan Kalin.

Kalin resigned from his post effective from November 1. The meeting has decided to appoint Bal Gopal Maharjan as the acting head coach of the men’s national team.

Kalin was appointed as the head coach of the national men’s national team on March 1, 2019. His first game in charge of the national team was against Kuwait in March 21, 2019.

Under Kalin, Nepal played 11 matches, including one against Malaysian club Johor Darul Tazim FC, winning one, drawing two and losing eightCoach Kalin had flown to his native Sweden on March 27 due to coronavirus pandemic and could not return to assume national team duties because of the travel restrictions imposed in his country.
