Former Ambassador Lama dies of COVID-19

KATHMANDU: Central member of ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) and former Nepali Ambassador to South Korea Kaman Singh Lama has passed away.

Lama who tested positive for COVID-19 during a PCR test at Teku Hospital on November 25 succumbed to the virus in the course of treatment at TU Teaching Hospital, Maharajgunj at 10 pm yesterday.

According to Mohan Gole, chairman of Nepal Tamang Ghedung, 69-year-old Lama was admitted to the hospital after he complained of respiratory complications.

Lama was also suffering from diabetes, kidney ailments and high blood pressure.

Originally from Chauri Deurali rural municipality, Kavrepalanchowk, Lama was currently at Thamel, Kathmandu.

Lama had been elected to the House of Representatives from Kavrepalanchowk representing Rastriya Janamorcha in 2048 BS.
