We should be sensitive towards saving Dr KC: Shrestha

KATHMANDU: Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Spokesperson and Secretariat member Narayan Kaji Shrestha has said the government should be sensitive towards saving the life of Dr Govinda KC.

Leader Shrestha said the talks being held between Dr KC and the government should be made successful at any cost.

“The talks between Dr KC and the government should be made successful at any cost,” said Shrestha in a Facebook message, adding, “We all should be sensitive and save Dr KC’s life.”

Dr KC has been staging a fast-unto-death since the last 27 days demanding implementation of past agreements reached with the government in the past. This is his 19th fast-unto-death.

The talks had been held between Dr KC’s representatives and the government on Friday evening but it ended inconclusively.

The talks that started at 9 pm made no headway, said Dr. KC’s representative Dr. Jeevan Chhetri.

He said that the government had not prepared any mandate to address the demands signalling that the government was not serious about addressing Dr. KC’s demand and saving his life.

He further warned of launching further protest programs. Meanwhile, doctors supporting Dr KC has warned of escalating agitation from Saturday.

Meanwhile, Dr KC’s medical team in a statement Friday said that health condition of Dr. KC, who is on the 27th day of fast-unto-death TUTH, deteriorated.

The health condition of Dr KC has deteriorated.  A statement issued by Prof. Dr. Subhash P. Acharya, Coordinator, Medical Team for Dr. KC, said that the latter has been complaining of intermittent palpitations (fast heart beat), chest pain, fatigue, muscle pain and cramps and repeated episodes of dizziness.
