Karnali’s COVID-19 tally crosses 2,000-mark



SURKHET: Karnali Province has added 24 fresh coronavirus cases to it tally in the last 24 hours.

A total of 17 people in Dailekh, six in Salyan and one in Surkhet have been infected with the virus in tests carried out at Surkhet-based Province Hospital/Avian Disease Investigation Laboratory and Dailekh Hospital.

Among the infected are three from Bhairavi Rural Municipality-3 of Dailekh, nine from Narayan Municipality-1 and one each from Wards- 3, 6, 7, 8 and 9.

Similarly, five people from Bangad Kupinde Municipality-6 of Salyan, one person of Ward-7 and one person of Ward-12 of Birendranagar Municipality of Surkhet have also been confirmed to have the infection, according to the Karnali Province Ministry of Social Development.

With the new cases, COVID-19 tally in the province has reached 2,003 as of Monday afternoon.

Of the total infected, 1,880 have been discharged so far, said Brish Bahadur Shahi, chief of the Ministry’s Health Services Division.
