Immigration service stalled after an employee tests positive for COVID-19

KATHMANDU: The Department of Immigration (DoI) has halted all services except emergency after an employee tested positive for COVID-19.

According to Ramesh Kumar KC, Director-General at the DoI, as many as 57 employees of the department had undergone the test for COVID-19.

Out of them, 56 tested negative for the pandemic virus.

“We have halted all services except emergency after the employee tested positive,” he said.

According to him, the work of the Immigration Department at Tribhuvan International Airport is regular even though the service of the central office of the department is closed.

Director General KC informed that the employees of the airport are also being tested regularly and no positive results were found so far.
