Nepal’s COVID-19 death toll reaches 76



KATHMANDU: The two people who died in Parsa and Banke have tested positive for coronavirus.

A 62-year-old of Pokhara Metropolitan City-19 who was undergoing treatment at Pokhara Academy of Health Sciences died on Saturday.

With this this, the number of people to have died from coronavirus has reached 76.

Similarly, a 20-year-old girl who died on last Friday in the course of searching hospitals has tested positive for coronavirus.

She was confirmed to have died from the virus after her swab test conducted at the laboratory of Narayani Hospital came out positive.

Likewise,  a 70-year-old woman who died in Nepal Medical College in Kohalpur has also tested for  coronavirus.

Originally from Kohalpur-2, she had been admitted to the hospital on Friday after she suffered from pneumonia.

Her swab test result conducted through PCR came out positive on Sunday, according to Assistant Director of Teaching Hospital Dr Dinesh Shrestha.

“She died at 11 am on Sunday. Her swab report came out in the afternoon. As many as 80 people including nurses and doctors have been kept in quarantine,” said the Shrestha.

Earlier, two people have died from coronavirus.
