KATHMANDU: At the time when the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) has been caught in internal feuds, Prime Minister and NCP Chairman KP Oli has said that the row in the party will be settled through talks.
In his address to the nation on Friday evening, Prime Minister Oli maintained that it was the responsibility of the party and leaders to resolve the disputes within the party.
“Such discussions, debates and disagreements within the party are internal and in some cases a regular process,” he said.
Prime Minister Oli added that the disputes would be resolved through mutual discussions between the leaders.
On a separate note, he said that the government was focused on saving the lives of the general public at a time when floods and landslides in different parts of the country have resulted in the loss of lives and properties.
Prime Minister Oli urged all to be immediately mobilized for rescue in the areas hit by natural disasters.
“We can’t ignore epidemics and natural disasters. Therefore, all three levels of government, people’s representatives, political leaders and activists must unite and effectively carry out all possible rescue, assistance and immediate treatment, ”said Prime Minister Oli in his address.
Stating that he was shocked by the news of floods and landslides caused by incessant rains in different parts of the country in the last few days, Prime Minister Oli said the government was taking disaster mitigation measures along with rescue, relief and rehabilitation work to be safe from such disasters.
The Prime Minister expressed grief over the loss of 35 lives due to the floods and landslides and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.
He urged the people to disciplined and adopt vigilance coronavirus is still not over and cases have been surging in Kathmandu Valley.
Stating that the government has been emphasizing on PCR test from the very beginning in an effort to control the coronavirus epidemic, the Prime Minister recalled the goal of testing two percent of the total population through PCR.
