Jajarkot landslide: Four dead bodies retrieved, 8 still missing



KATHMANDU: The dead bodies of four out of 12 people who went missing in a landslide at Barekot Rural Municipality-4, Sarkigaun of Jajarkot have been found as of Friday afternoon.

According to the District Police Office, Jajarkot, the dead bodies of Gopal Sarki, 52 and Arjun Sarki, 11, of Barekot-4, Dilli Sarki, 20, and Birendra Sarki, 18, of Kose Rural Municipality-9 have been retrieved by rescuers so far.

Whereabouts of Pushpa Sarki, 50, her daughter Laxmi Sarki, 13, Kalu Sarki, his 14-year-old daughter Tirkha, 11-year-old daughter Kamala and six-year-old son Subas is still unknown.

Likewise, 14-year-old Gauri Sarki and 16-year-old Kabita Sarki of Kushe Rural Municipality-9 are still missing, police said.
