118 fresh cases in 24 hours take Nepal’s COVID-19 tally to 16,649

KATHMANDU: Total coronavirus cases in the country stand at 16,649 as of Friday afternoon, Nepal’s Ministry of Health and Population said.

Speaking at a regular press briefing, Spokesperson at the Ministry Dr. Jageshwor Gautam said that Nepal’s confirmed 118 fresh cases in the past 24 hours.

A total of 4,806 samples were tested through the Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) method in the past 24 hours, he stated.

Currently, 23,910 people are in quarantine centers and 8,603 undergoing treatment in isolation.

Meanwhile, 120 COVID-19 patients were discharged from different hospitals and isolation centers. So far, 8,011 people have been discharged across the country after recovery.

Nepal’s COVID-19 death toll stands at 35.
