All 15 did not die of COVID-19, claims PM Oli



KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Oli has claimed that all 15 people who are said to have died from COVID-19 may not have died from it.

Speaking at a meeting of the House of Representatives on Wednesday, PM Oli said they had died from other illness, too.

He also said that some people have not seen the symptoms of COVID-19 during the treatment and some of them have been diagnosed with Coronavirus after death.

He said that 85 percent of Nepalis who came from India have the infection of COVID-19.

The number of people returning home after recovering in Nepal is comparatively good than the number of recovering persons from Covid-19 that crosses 500, PM Oli stated.

He informed the parliament that 14,400 Nepalis have been infected with coronavirus abroad and 127 Nepalis have died in 13 countries.

Stating that 5,000 tests are being carried out daily, Oli stated that the government is taking the initiative to bring PCR machines and kits from different countries as there is a large number of tests yet to be done.
