22 Nepali women test positive for Coronavirus in UAE



KATHMANDU: As many as 22 Nepali migrant workers have tested for Coronavirus in the United Arab Emirate (UAE) in a single day.

Sixty-one female migrant workers employed in a sanitary company based in Sarjah in the UAE have been diagnosed with the novel coronavirus.

According to Pasang Sherpa, the coordinator of QRF Team Nepal, 22 among those infected with the novel virus are Nepali people.

According to Sherpa, about 100 Nepali women work in the company that supplies staffers to various schools, colleges and banks for housekeeping jobs.

A total of 149 Nepali have tested positive for Coronavirus in UAE so far, of which six have died while 27 have recovered after treatment, according to Prakash Koirala, Chairman of NRNA UAE.

The death toll in the UAE has reached 174 with 16, 793 infection cases. Currently, 12, 782 are undergoing treatment at various hospitals in the country while 3, 837 have returned home after treatment.
