NC leaders for spending constituency development fund in fight against COVID-19



KATHMANDU: Twelve youth central members of the major opposition Nepali Congress has appealed to the government to redirect the constituency development fund for the ongoing fight against COVID-19.

They have also furnished several action recommendations along with the elongation of lockdown orders for containing the global pandemic in the country.

The appeal was jointly issued by NC central members, including Dr. Chandra Bhandari, Dhanraj Gurung, Kamala Panta, Ratna Sherchan, Gururaj Ghimire, Gagan Kumar Thapa, Badri Pandey, Jeewan Pariyar, Pradeep Poudel, Ram Krishna Yadav, Kalyan Gurung and Kiran Yadav.

The youth leaders drew the government’s attention towards taking further effective measures on widening the scope of virus infection tests, arranging health equipment, livelihood packages and addressing the problems facing by Nepalis outside along with the enforcement of lockdown.

They have also suggested that the government should instead add incentives to the security personnel and health workers, currently in the frontline of the fight against the Coronavirus.
