All foreign returnees in home quarantine, medicines at doorstep



Kavrepalanchowk: The local administration here has kept those returned from foreign countries in home quarantine. They have undergone health check-ups too.

The District Health Office informed that a total of 451 persons returned home in the recent two and a half months.

In the month of Chait alone, 252 persons returned home from abroad, said Office chief Dr. Narendra Jha. “All of those returned home from foreign employment have been home quarantined and they are in constant
observation of health workers at local levels,” he said.

The local levels here recorded the entry of everyone new in the villages in view of the menace of coronavirus. Dr. Jha further said after the COVID-19 began taking toll globally, most of these out from the district returned home from foreign countries especially in the recent month.

Mandandeupur municipality deputy mayor Nirmala Sahi said among eight persons kept in quarantine, seven have been returned to home after 14 days stay, while one is awaited for health check-up and to complete two weeks’ time.

The local levels have also set up quarantine at different places having 288 beds.

Similarly, Dhulikhel Hospital has eight and Scheer Memorial Hospital has five-bed isolation wards. All 17 tested for COVID-19 resulted in negative in Dhulikhel so far.

Meanwhile, the health tests of those returned home and coming in contact have no symptoms of coronavirus, according to Chief District Officer.

Medicines delivered at doorsteps

Namobuddha municipality has started providing medicines free of cost to chronic patients of its area at their doorsteps. Mayor TP Sharma said that the municipality started providing medicines to chronic patients- who have been taking medicine regularly, with an objective to keep in normal the health condition of such patients.

He said, “We have been providing medicines free of cost to chronic patients based on doctor’s prescription.”

Meanwhile, ward offices have been circulated not to upload photo and video unnecessarily in social networking sites.
