1, 378 lockdown violators held on early Thursday



KATHMANDU: Police have arrested over 1, 300 people on the charge of violating lockdown in the Kathmandu Valley on early Thursday.

Security personnel have arrested 1, 378 people from various places of the capital as of 8 am today.

According to police, 1,100 among those arrested are men while 278 are women.

Meanwhile, police have taken 249 vehicles under control being used defying the lockdown.

Police said they will hold the vehicles until today evening if they are found to have been operated except for urgent works.

People have been urged to stay indoors and not to come of their houses during the lockdown.

The lockdown enforced by the government to stem the spread of Coronavirus has entered the 16th day today.
