PM Oli likely to be discharged on Wednesday

KATHMANDU: Preparations are underway to discharge Prime Minister KP Oli on Wednesday.

Prime Minister Oli who underwent a second kidney transplant last Wednesday will be discharged on coming Wednesday, as his health condition has improved significantly, said Dr. Pawan Chalise, one of the doctors involved in Oli’s kidney transplant surgery.

“The health condition of Prime Minister Oli has improved significantly. A patient with a kidney transplant is normally discharged within a week if he/she shows no complications following surgery,” said Chalise, adding,” No complications are seen with PM Oli. Hence, he is likely to be discharged on Wednesday.”

Meanwhile, the health condition of Samiksha Sangraula who donated one of her kidneys to Prime Minister Oli is also recuperating. She is likely to be discharged tomorrow, said Chalise.

Even though Oli’s health condition is said to be improving significantly, no one is allowed to meet him for the fear of infection.

Doctors have denied both Oli’s wife Radhika Shakya and his nonagenarian father to meet him, a hospital source said.
