KATHMANDU: A study has shown that the number of deaths of women and children due to coronavirus is less than that of men’s.

According to a recent study carried out by China’s Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 2.8 percent among those killed are men while that of women is only 1.7 percent. Similarly, 0.2 percent are children.

Likewise, 15 percent of those killed are above 80 years of age.

However, this is not the new result indicating the less number of deaths of women compared to men. Lesser number of women had died in the previous flu-related epidemics.

Experts have attributed the less toll on the children to the care of the parents while that of women to the less risky lifestyle compared to that of men.
