Four arrested for printing fake banknotes



KATHMANDU: Police have arrested four persons involved in duplicating banknotes by using photocopy machines.

A team of Nepal Police Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) also confiscated duplicate banknotes equivalent to Rs 4 lakh 13 thousand, and a photocopy machine, and a color printer from them.

The four – Kamal Budathoki, 29, of Sharada Municipality-7; Bal Bahadur Rana Magar, 32, of Paanchkhaal, Kavre; Aryal Khadka, 24, of Doti; and Chhatra Bahadur Limbu, 26, of Jorpati rural municipality of Dhankuta — were found to be printing and distributing the fake notes in the market.

According to CIB, Rana Magar was found to be involved in printing fake notes while Aryan was involved in designing the fake notes at a rented room at Gongabu of Kathmandu.

Budathoki and Limbu were involved in distributing the fake notes in the market, police said.
